After purchasing the first version of VR HTC VIVE, we in Alien studio decided to combine the potential of VR technology and our skills from advertising and visual effects. And so the Deadness game was born, in which we tried to bring the maximum of the horror experience using the possibilities of VR technology. We did not want to use in-game movement like teleportation, so we invented wheelchair movement using our own hand to move as it is in reality. At that time there was no similar project used. We also didn’t want to use inventory in the form of a graphic interface as is commonly used in other games, that would again create an unrealistic virtual environment. In our game, all the necessary items are placed on their knees as in reality. This created most immersive experience. We have also used Xsens motion capture technology for all character animations.
